ORDC and ODOT are planning rallies for Thursday, October 1st in Columbus and Cleveland to rally visible public support for the 3C "Quick Start" passenger rail plan.
Columbus "Rally for Rail": 9:30 AM at the Union Station Arch on Nationwide Blvd in the Arena District.
Cleveland "Rally for Rail": 3:00 PM at the Cleveland Lake Front Amtrak Station
Speakers for both events will include Governor Ted Strickland, ODOT Director Jolene Molitoris, ODOD Director Lisa Pat McDaniel and ORDC Executive Director Matt Dietrich.
Guests for the Columbus event (so far) include OSU President Gordon Gee, "Brutus" and other local digintaries currently being invited. The theme will be how higher education can tie in and be served by passenger rail.
Information on the events will also be posted later today on the http://3CisMe.Ohio.gov website and the new 3C Facebook page (which as of this morning had over 1,240 "fans").
