I thought it would be great to have a recording of my nieces and nephews singing Christmas songs as a gift for our family. Where would I go with them in Columbus to record such a thing? I obviously don't need a really professional/pricey deal. Just a place where we can go and capture their voices. A little help?

Most home computers can do a decent job recording to mp3 format these days --at least I know that a Mac can do the job and I'm assuming a PC can too. All you'll really need to do is invest in a good quality microphone and a USB interface --cheaper than studio time. It won't be professional quality, of course, but it doesn't sound like you need that. Then you can transfer to disc if you want.
Here's some recordings I've made that way if you want to see what the sound quality is like. The singing isn't great, but that's more a function of my voice than the recording process.
