As you may or may not know from the Metropreneur, we've taken a stab at selling a condo by owner. We have a time line and if we aren't successful, a reputable Realtor is lined up to sell it. No big deal.
One element of our advertising was posting on Craig's List.
A guy by the name of Jim Morrison was posing as an interested buyer and sent a few emails as a result of the Craig's List ad.
Turns out Jim Morrison works with Exit Trinity Realty, Tracey Hartson Realty, ColumbusProperties.com and 614anyhome.com in Gahanna. They also have a Facebook page, which is Hartson - Morrison Group.
Whatever, I could deal with being mislead by this guy, but when I sent an email response saying I'm not interested in working with them, Jim Morrison replied with:
"Good luck in queerville."
followed by another email:
"you're an idiot"
Evidently I can't see the wisdom in using a realtor in Gahanna who thinks of the Short North as "queerville" to sell a Short North property.
Obviously I would suggest avoiding them.
My question though, is posing as an interested buyer a violation of how a Realtor is licensed and if so, to whom should I report them?
