There should be one. It would be clutch in the Short North.

Is that a place that makes crepes?
I've never had a good crepe. When done well are they awesome of something? I had some crap somewhere called a crepe once that turned me off to the whole thing. I'm open. I'm listening.

^^ When well done they are the epitome of amazing.
I've never had a good one in the US though. :(

there was an okay place in pittsburgh. It wasn't great, but it was a neat concept and a fun spot for a meal or snack.
is there anywhere to get a belgian waffle?
what about a hot chocolate shop?
Those were my two favorite date spots back in philly.

I'm hoping that Pistachio Vera fills some of these voids when it opens in German Village this fall.

There is a creperie in Boston's Quincy Market.
Name: The Magic Pan
It's a tourist trap...er...attraction.
IMO that's the only way a creperie would work...although it's a decent visit, it's also uninspiring for a return visit.
"Same crepe, different day" kinda vibe.

As a smallish niche place, I think one would do very well. I used to go to grad school with a bunch of French students and we often had crepe parties. You can do lots with them, savory or sweet. I used to make them and stuff them with a ricotta cheese mixture, a variation of a manicotti. Wonderful.

Sadly, I don't think so. In the last few cities I've traveled to they're EVERYWHERE.
I think one would fit in pretty well in the North Market.

Le Metropolitan (the disused joint with the mini Eiffel Tower out front on Liberty Street near CD101) used to have crepes. You can tell that it must've been wildly successful, considering they've been out of business for at least seven or eight years now.

I heard there is a place either in grandview, VV, or harrison west that has great crepes. I would love a place like this.

I'm not a huge fan of the north market. I think a crepe place should be placed on a street, not in a "food court".

If you guys think it would go over so well, buy one of those little crepe carts like they have in Paris and other cities, get a vendors permit, and start selling them on the street. Startup is probably 7000 or less.

Cafe Corner in Harrison West used to make crepes back when Pete owned it. Alas, no more (but they've still got great food).

There were crepe places everywhere in San Francisco!
I LOVE them!
I have gotten really good ones at IHOP. And at a catered party once.
There was a belgian waffle cart at Easton...not sure if it is still there?
Was around the fountain by the Express/Victorias Secret/Smith & Wollensky's.
Dessert crepes are my absolute fave though. I would definitely patronize a place that made such goodness.

Whole Foods on 161 actually has a Creperie stand.

rave_til_dawn wrote I really hadn't heard of crepes as a meal option (other than dessert) until I saw the Throwdown episode with crepes the other day.
I wish we had a creperie now!
savory crepes are even better than sweet crepes. mushroom and cheese or bechamel crepes on the streets of Paris - one of the best cheap meals ever.
