If you were to come up with a short list of Columbus' elite power brokers and decision makers, who would you include? Here's my off-the-top-of-my-head suggestions, in no particular order:
1. Jerry Jurgensen (CEO Nationwide)
2. Les Wexner (CEO Limited)
3. Gordon Gee (President OSU)
4. Thomas Hoaglin (CEO Huntington)
5. Michael Coleman (Mayor)
6. John F. Wolfe (Dispatch)

John H McConnell - Owns the Blue Jackets and all the Chiller's in town. Has a street named after him near the Arena, and owns the ULTRA exclusive Double Eagle Golf Course in southern Delaware County. Founded Worthington Industries in 1955. There is also the McConnell Heart Hospital at Riverside and the soon to be McConnell Art Center of Worthington. Not quite Wex but still a big player in town.

Well said Mike. Most of the people on this list are just people with money. It's a big problem in our society when that earns the clout. As far as "who have you listened to lately?" That's a great question. I still stick with my guy Marrison because I read the Dispatch and I think it has integrity (and CU of course).
And, by the way, I had to look up illuminati (I'm obviously not one of them):
persons possessing, or claiming to possess, superior enlightenment.
So, I stick with my picks. CEO's are just big rich business guys on the CEO circuit. Drop in to a gig, make lots of cash, move on to the next big paying gig with an enormous severance. Let's see how much enlightenment Gee drops on us from his post at OSU. Holbrook didn't do much.

I wouldn't lump all CEOs into the same boat like that. Wexner has been a huge philanthropist in this city.
