Has anyone ever gone to this? I saw the ad in the Other Paper and thought it sounded interesting. I don't have much "art" per se and thought this might be a way to pick up some cool stuff on the cheap (does anyone know what stuff actually sells for?).

if you go, i heard it is worth it to pay the extra to get in there early.

I dunno if I can pay the $50 and get there that early to *possibly* purchase something. I'll have to think it over.....

What exactly does "not that bad" mean? Can I get some sort of representative price points or anything?
Maybe I'm just too damn cheap for real art.......

I'm with you...that would swallow up a decent sized chunk of my art budget in the first place.

just go. i went a few years back and got some really nice screenprints for $20 or $30 each. if you are a collector pay the extra fee to get in. if not just go and buy something that you kinda like. you'll grow to love it and artists can use the support.
these events are well attended.
i hope to one day make it back, but i always seem to be out of town that day.

More details:
A general admission ticket, which is available for $5, allows the ticketholder to enter the Student Art Sale between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A first-choice admission ticket, which is available for $50, allows the ticketholder to enter the sale at 8:30 a.m. and obtain “first choice†of the artwork on display. Admission fees help support student scholarships.
Public parking is available in the former Byers used car lot immediately across Cleveland Avenue from CCAD’s East Broad Street facility.

I went, it was ok. Couple things I would have got if the prices were a little more reasonable.

I went too...thought it was pretty well attended. I got a nice blown glass dish for $30 that will cost close to $100 at the art festival in June.
