McD's was a major stakeholder in Chipotle, but they divested almost a year ago. Donatos also used to be majority-owned by McDonald's as well until about 2003. McDonald's still owns a large portion of Boston Market.
It's all run by different management and different operations. It's just a stockholder thing.

There's a couple. One on Bethel in front of Microcenter, and one on Lane by the Shoppes.
They used to be owned by Wendy's, but were sold off. I've only been in once since the sale, but they've changed some things at Baja Fresh, and I think the changes are for the worse. :?

Meh, it seems like nothing has changed since then. I'm surprised McDs divested in it, Chipotle is a money maker and was then too.

not a big fan of Qdoba either but I would go there before Baja Fresh. I always though baja was nasty and why did they have 6 salsa's that all taste bad? I love mexican food more than any other type, but baja.... a no no.
side note: could you picture a baja or qdoba going in where the steak and shake went out on campus? or is that too many of the same style places with chipotle and Moes (just like these other places if you have not been) with in a few blocks?

Dude, I LOVE Baja's Pico de Gallo, and think the black "baja salsa" is pretty decent as well. It's a really different taste, at any rate.
POTENTIALLY anything could go into the Steak & Shake location - I could see either one of those as a *possible* candidate, but think that Baja Fresh is unlikely since the one on Lane already serves the non-walking part of the Campus community, and Qdoba I just don't see standing out enough in the market.

Hah! Well as far as out-of-the-blue anything goes choices, In-N-Out Burger would definitely get my vote as well.
Having a Fuddruckers back in town would be nice, but I don't think campus is a particularly great choice for that.
Jack In The Box might do well there. At least it could give McDonalds & Wendy's a decent challenge.
I think a conveyor sushi-place like Zen could make a KILLING on campus. Bento seems to have a monopoly on supplying campus with sushi, and it's not like they're that good...

I hadn't heard of chipotle until i moved to the midwest. Back east we had lots of qdobas or as some people in philly called them.........q-dizzle.
I have to say after eating at chipotle many times, I prefer qdoba, but i think it might just be conditioning. And I honestly don't like either as much as I like a good plate of tacos from a taqueria.......how is xaliscos? I've been meaning to get up there.

Made the mistake of eating there on Saturday - Henderson Road location.
Total Chipotle ripoff - which would be fine if it was good, but it wasn't even mediocre. I could get in to detail, but it's not worth it.
Nasty nasty food.
