Interesting op-ed in the WSJ by Stephen Goldsmith, deputy mayor of New York City.
No one wants a return to the bad old days when public employees feared arbitrary dismissals. Today, however, the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction. Rather than too few rules governing public employees, there are far too many, and they hurt the very people progressive reformers cared most about: the least fortunate members of society who depend the most on effective support services.

Interesting because WSJ found someone to carry their torch for their "progressive government jumping the shark" campaign? Or, interesting because they've been arguing that since like 1889, rain or shine?
Hold on, whilist I find the inevitable "Conservative Government is Obsolete" article about Texas on HuffPo...

I do think, that someone who tries to sum up the entire historical context of a city in a couple of paragraphs in order to proclaim some sort of pre-decided headline, is a fool.
Considering he wrote the op-ed, don't you think those two statements ^^^ are contradictory?
