
'The Onion' to bring satirical news to town

Central Ohioans will be able to peel back another layer of The Onion this fall when the satirical newspaper launches a Columbus edition.
The free weekly tabloid, which features faux coverage of real and fictional news events, will be produced in partnership with The Dispatch’s parent company, starting on Oct. 6.

Columbusites who snap up an armful of free weekly publications each Thursday might need to make room for another in October.
The Columbus Dispatch announced Thursday that the news-skewering satirical Onion http://www.theonion.com will begin a 20,000-copy run at 562 locations in the city starting Oct. 6. The publication has inked a three-year deal with Dispatch parent Dispatch Printing Co. , which will handle the tabloid’s advertising sales, printing and distribution.
