Good evening all,
Here is some information about the Pride committee my friend (Scott) is in. S has been a volunteer for the past 5 or so years for the event itself ; doing random things each year. As time went by he met the director and 'higher-up' people at Stonewall. With his experience they asked him to be a main member of the Pride organization, if he was interested.
Many large events (Pride is one, a wedding could be another, et al.) usually take around 6 months to a year to plan. Meetings for this year's event begin in January and usually run, off and on, right up to June. From what S tells me they are asking if he wishes to be trained as the head leader / organizer, who would pick up information from various sub-committees and then coordinate everything. He shall learn some ropes and see how things go.
User Lizless is right! columbuspride.org is a good source for info. http://www.stonewallcolumbus.org. is another.
Take care,
* Geoff
