It all becomes clear.

I'm tired of the Boo on Cue. Both sides do it. "My OPPONENT says ___" then a dramatic pause for the audience to boo and hiss.
Apparently Romney's going to tackle the deficit by cutting funds for Amtrak, PBS, the NEH, and the NEA.
Oh Mitt...
It’s not clear what Romney would actually cut to make his budget add up
If only Mitt would bring someone on his team with experience in budget issues.
Oh, wait a tick.
Big gulf between political parties, divisions within
Interesting observations not just on the differences between democrats and republicans, but the differences between different groups under both those labels.
Example:
But Democrats too are divided — particularly on gay marriage.Fully 85 percent of those we call “Urban Liberals” — one of the biggest of the Democratic groups — say they feel strongly that gay marriage should be legal, but that drops to 26 percent among “God and Government” Democrats, the largest group, and just 13 percent among the smallest cadre, the do-it-yourself, or “DIY,” Democrats.
Religion, social issues and the size and scope of government are the main pivots dividing the Democratic coalition, but demographic differences also contribute to the fissures.
Urban Liberals — the most traditionally liberal of the groups — are nearly three-quarters white and by far the most educated and highest income earners among Democrats. The God and Government contingent is two-thirds nonwhite and far more apt than two of the five Republican groups to go to religious services at least once a week.
Urban Liberals and the “Agnostic Left,” another group of people who seldom go to church, overwhelmingly say there should be a high degree of separation between church and state, while sizable majorities of the other two groups of Democrats say the government should take special steps to protect America’s religious heritage.
About a third of DIY Democrats advocate a larger federal government offering more in services, a position backed by most of those in other groups, peaking at 85 percent among Urban Liberals. DIY Democrats are by far the least likely of any of the four groups to support new spending at the cost of deficit reduction. But they also represent only about one in eight Democrats — only about a third of the size of the God and Government group.

A few days ago I received a call from a man I recently met named George. He was a bit flustered, and soon informed me that his young son was sick with a chest condition. He pleaded with me to send him $1,000 to cover the medical bills. Since George was at the hospital I asked him to let me speak to a nurse, and she confirmed that George’s son was indeed ill. So I agreed to send George the money through Western Union. He was profusely grateful. But before I hung up I asked George, “Why are you coming to me?” He said, “I have no one else to ask.” Then he said something that astounded me, “Dinesh, you are like a brother to me.”Actually, George has a real life brother who just happens to be the president of the United States. (George Obama is the youngest of eight children sired by Barack Obama Sr.) George’s brother is a multimillionaire and the most powerful man in the world. Moreover, George’s brother has framed his re-election campaign around the “fair share” theme that we owe obligations to those who are less fortunate.

Seriously, Dinesh is scouring the slums of Africa looking for cut off Obama relations?
Maybe instead of looking for Obama shirttail relations a continent away, Dinesh would be better to ask why a GOP Congressman who actually lives in the US is skinny dipping in the Sea of Galilee with other Congressmen and their wives & daughters?
Yes, seriously, the man who says we should be our brother's keeper isn't being his brother's keeper.
Poor Cookie, better luck next time. Perhaps scour the message board a little longer next time.

Actually, she did a great job. Your hyperbole makes no sense - no one actually believes anyone should be their brother's keeper. Just because a dad can drop seed whereever, doesn't make the kids responsible for each other.

Um. You might want to rethink that. If you believe that people should help the poor, either via government or charity, you believe in being your brother's keeper.
Unless you're too hung up on defending Obama from any and all criticism to understand the analogy, in which case carry on.

Of course I get the parable aspect of it - that isn't what Columbustime was referring to, however. He was saying that Obama should literally be responsible for a sibling that his father fathered with another women, in a different country.
Unless, of course, you're too hung up on reflexively defending anyone who endlessly attempts to denigrate Obama with ridiculous statements, then carry on.

And the same person, Obama, preaches taking care of others via government services while ignoring others he can personally care for. Which was Columbustime's point.
Apparently it's only OK to help others via the government; not something one should do personally.
I think the moral of the story is that if you have an estranged half-brother half way around the world who is President of the United States, ask for help from a member of the opposition so he can score points in an opinion piece.

You get how they aren't the same thing, right? How chosing not to help person A over here, doesn't mean the collective shouldn't help persons B thru infinity over there... it's a silly argument.

I'm pretty sure Obama didn't preach taking care of all of Africa with your tax dollars...
You know what Dinesha's whole article read like? Like he got played by a Nigeran scammer. That's my honest reaction to it. His claim that he spoke to nurse at a hospital via phone... come on, that's some bullshit 99.99% of the time you hear that.
In the past few days, an article has been circulating on the web that depicts George as a social undesirable. First published in the London Daily Mail, the article portrays George as a habitual drunk and philanderer. I spent a day with George this past February while interviewing him for my documentary film 2016: Obama’s America. I can attest that George is not an innocent. If he had been, he would not have survived life in the Huruma slum. Yes, George is street smart and cunning and I did smell alcohol on his breath.
Oh jeez... Dinesh spent a whole 24hr day with him. Just imagine the insights into his life he must have, oh and he skimmed his unpublished book too.
It's there any conspiracy you two won't lap up off the floor like kitties in a milk factory?
