the intro was amazing
i want to check this out. carrie brownstein is one of my favorite musicians so i am curious to see her in this comedy.
that first episode was awesome. i've been singing that 90's song for days.
i wish they'd put the whole series on hulu!
Ha! I have been noticing that bird thing for a while but was trying to be polite about it. The bird is usually combined with dripping paint in some fashion. And occasionally music notations of some kind. And scribbles, or leaves.
Put A Bird on It constitutes the entire artistic oeuvre of some relatively successful artists/crafters. I'm always mystified. They're all like, "Don't you get it? It's a bird?!", and I'm all like, "uh huh, yeah, there it is". And then everyone buys the %^&*! out of it like it's Guernica or something.
Luckily, most of my paintings are just stripes, so I don't have a problem with people misinterpreting them OR buying them :)
ETA: just checked, and Guernica does not have a bird on it. So much for Picasso. It does have a horse in it, though, which is close enough for government work.
I love this show. Anyone know if full episodes are available anywhere?
manatee, i saw a card the other day that said something like "put a bike on it. people will shit themselves"

"A bird, possibly a dove, stands on a shelf behind the bull in panic."
Holy shit, somebody put a bird on Guernica.
Dammit, now I have to go buy Guernica.
Portland on NPR this morning:
Oregon is one of only a dozen states where the majority of its residents aren't from there. Each year thousands of 20-somethings move to Portland.Portland has scooped up 20-somethings from shrinking cities in the Northeast and the Midwest. It gets the kids who dream of being in a rock band. But the city has also drawn well-educated young professionals
"Talent is becoming more concentrated in some cities and moving away from other cities," says Joe Cortright, an economist standing in the rain at the food cart.
Twenty years ago, the percent of people with college degrees in Portland was lower than the national average. Now, it's more than 10 points higher  about 40 percent. And Cortright says the grads aren't just coming for high-tech jobs.
I love the show!
"Portland is where young people go to retire."
Apparently the show is doing very well for IFC and has already been picked up for a second season.
I've never been to Portland, but according to this show it's basically every annoying type of person in every major city x10,000. ;)

Ha. As a native Pac Northwesterner, I can say that not all of Portland is that way, but if you go into the Clinton/Hawthorne/Division area, you will find yourself going "Oh! It's funny 'cause it's true!"

I can't wait to see more. Wish it was available to watch on Hulu.
