"As part of ongoing efforts to attract nonstop international flights, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority yesterday approved a doubling of financial incentives that could be offered to attract service to Europe and Asia.
The authority now will be able to offer marketing assistance of $300,000 per year for two years, up from the previous $150,000 per year.
"We want to remain competitive," said David Whitaker, vice president of business development for the airport authority. "We've seen other airports increasing their incentives."
