Whether you are interested in recording your great Aunt Pearl as she talks about her past life as a can-can dancer to share with the family or orating about your deep knowledge of Go programming to help you land a job at Google, podcasting is a simple and dynamic way to create original, homegrown digital content.
This workshop is an opportunity to learn many of the basics, from ideas about what you can put into a podcast to hands-on experimentation with creating one.
We will discuss:
- Creative ideas and examples
- Pitfalls of podcasting
- Places to find royalty-free audio
- Writing for an audio format (we’ll produce a one-minute script)
- How to use and speak into a microphone (performing that one-minute script)
- How to use free and low-cost sound editing software (producing a mini podcast)
Bring a USB microphone if you have one (although we will have a few on hand to share with those who don’t) along with your creative ideas about what you would like to podcast.
