Hopefully you have heard we are up for a Pepsi Refresh grant. We need your help, all of your help, every day, twice. Basically you can vote online here: http://www.refresheverything.com/wonderland or text your vote by texting 103235 to Pepsi. You can do these things daily. We welcome any ideas anyone has to offer for ways to spread the word about this, we would love to see people nationally voting for this so any leads will be followed!

I saw Wonderland received a grant from the state for historic preservation a few months ago too! Any idea when studios or construction may begin? Cheers!

I just voted. Yippee. However is there a way to get the local News stations behind this? The whole city should push for this effort.

Up one more spot to 59!

I don't want to be a naysayer, but the chances that Wonderland is going to accumulate enough votes to take the #1 spot from "Helping Babies with Cystic Fibrosis" are pretty slim.

I hate babies anyways.

The top two slots indeed get funded. And though I love babies... in this case I think our story of a city working together to help both the creative community and the economic growth generated by it... is a pretty compelling story.
We do recognize that this is going to take as many people in Columbus, that want to see Columbus succeed to vote with us every day. It isn't the only source of funding for the project.. but both the money it does bring and the community network it encourages, will in turn help us when approaching other donors. Money begets money. Assistance begets assistance.
We need all of you. Hopefully you'll join us.

Yep, Joe the truth is you all have to make the mission of this Refresh grant request appeal to someone outside of Columbus if you want to win this thing.
As it stands, the way the Wonderland Pepsi refresh grant request is positioned it will not win. It has Buckeye-itis. It's way too narrow.
That said, it could be repositioned to be a winner.
Caring about cancer victims is universal. Cancer is something that has touched most people's lives, which is of course why it's close to the top.
Nobody outside of Columbus encountering this on the Pepsi site is gonna give two shakes of a lamb's leg about "Raising the profile of the Columbus Arts community" or "Keeping tenants costs low".
Outsiders might align with a broader goal like "creating a global arts hub to serve the world's independent art community" and be compelled to vote. I dunno, just throwing ideas out there, but broaden the ambition, vision and scope to somehow include people beyond Columbus if you're serious about winning.
