With more people moving downtown, more people spending their nights at Park St. and the continuing success of our convention center as a front runner for midwestern conventions, why does the North Market not stay open later? I could guarantee Niki and I picking up dinner on the way home from work at least a couple of times a week, as I am sure many other downtown residents could, but the other two reasons make it seem even more obvious. Give the thousands of people drinking on Park Street every night an easy option to run over and grab a bite to sober up, and give the convention goers options beyond what is currently offered in the Short North. I don't want that to come off as negative to the current restaurants in our Neighborhood. They are great and I am glad we have them, but a less expensive option would, I am sure, be welcomed to people traveling without the benefit of a corporate card.
Does anyone know if this has been tried in the past?
