I dunno... I think it still looks like a beautiful treasure that will be even more appreciated with an art gallery inside it...

Permanent Pizzuti collection
By Steve Wartenberg
The Columbus Dispatch
Sunday September 23, 2012 10:02 AMIn the Short North, the first phase of another major project is nearing completion.
The Pizzuti Collection gallery could be open to the public this year, said Mike Chivini, executive vice president of the Pizzuti Cos.
Phases two, three and four of the project — in the expected order of their completion — are a 313-car parking garage; a six-story, 55,000-square-foot office building; and the 11-story, 135-room boutique hotel called the Joseph.
Utility work has begun, and construction should start by March, Chivini said.
The garage is expected to be completed in late 2013, the office building later in that year or in early 2014, and the hotel in mid-2014.

Short North project gets $2.4 million tax break
The Columbus Dispatch Tuesday September 25, 2012
by Lucas SullivanColumbus is offering more than $3.3 million in tax breaks to three companies that have promised to create 419 new full-time jobs in the city and hundreds of parking spots in the cramped Short North.
City council awarded tax abatements for these projects at its meeting last night:
• A 75 percent property-tax abatement for 10 years to Pizzuti Cos., which plans to build a $59 million office and boutique space on N. High Street, just south of Russell Street, in the Short North.

good call on a tax break for this. I'm really excited to see the progress of short north over the next 12 months.

Now if only they would start moving some dirt.
Posted 8 months ago # -
From the Dispatch article, looks like we won't be seeing any dirt move until March. Seems like they haven't locked in financing for the project but that's just me surmising...
Posted 8 months ago # -
My guess is the financing is there but each month there seems to be another step in the process that they need to get done, ie: tax breaks, zoning, etc.

This city really needs a streamlining process for projects like this.

What do Columbus and Pyongyang have in common?
Posted 7 months ago # -
Are you serious? Have you seen how fast the new Nationwide buildings, courthouse, casino, Children's Hospital, etc have gone up?
Posted 7 months ago # -
The Pyongyang building in question is also 105 stories.
It's a strange comparison.Posted 7 months ago # -
