Food...coma...
Thanks Walker. Great fun! Chilly, but fun!
And thanks to all at Wild Goose for hosting and Jim, sorry to miss you, I'll get you a slice next time I fire up the beast.
great pizzas. Lots of new unusual stuff. Thanks to the great folks at wild goose for hosting this.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed my pies. It was an oddball idea suggested to me by a friend, and I was very unsure how it would be received. Glad you enjoyed it.
cheers!
Yeah, thanks Mike, Dave, and everyone who made and brought pizzas. Mike and Dave: excellent work as usual. You guys top the list of great pizza in Columbus.
Thanks to everyone who came out tonight - always a fun time - looking forward to the next PGP already!
I am so bummed I missed this! I am trying to get some people together for dim sum next Sat. PM me if you are interested. Hopefully I'll be able to chew by then. :/
What a great time my wife and I had. I'd like to thank everyone for being so welcoming, this was our first CU event and our first time to Wild Goose. We ate entirely too much pizza but it was worth it. Mike and Dave, you guys put out some tasty pies and I enjoyed every bite. My daughter thought the bag of goodies we won was better than a trophy and has already claimed dibs on the pizza cutter. We met some great people and had a blast. Thanks again - Matt
Reporting back from PGP V: Pizza is still good.
You're welcome.
We had a blast too! What a great idea!
Got to try some really killer pies, Mama Mia's were just amazing ALL of them! Really like the Pizza from Granddad's first time I had it and really like it. Missed the Clever Crow but that looked tasty too.
Now on to what will from now on be the pizza all others are judged by. Rockmastermike's home made Piece of Pizza Heaven was not only the best home made one I tried but maybe the best pizza I ever had period. It was a work of art! Just so good and different, I could feel your paassion for the pie bro, and the love is strong!

I'll bring hand-made Prosciutto, Provolone, Shitake, Crimini, Oyster, and Onions Pizza.I never did this. But I was planning to until a change of mood, and I ate all my prosciutto :)
Shame - sounded really good, even without the prosciutto.
Awesome pizza last night...I really liked porky's pizza from catafinos.
Great event. Thanks for putting it on!

Wow, thanks! I do indeed have a major THING for smoked meats and pizza. I Just absolutely had to try combining the two when Jim suggested it to me a few months ago.

PGP V was a good blend of new as well as familiar faces, and the pizza was equally as varied. Newcomer Matt walked away with 2nd place and witnessed how much fun a CU meetup can be. We knew Rockmastermike was going to make something meaty and delicious, so delicious it was gone from the display table in mere minutes. I learned what a treat Weber grilled pizza can be after PGP IV, and Dave wooed me again. And I thought it was extra special that we were able to enjoy the company of his family while he was making his pizza pies. I sadly missed somer's pizza (potato pizza, I think), but it looked great. The corn topped pizza from Clever Crow was extra tasty, a topping I've never had on pizza. Thanks to whoever brought that Sunday.
We got a brief but friendly visit from Walker and Desi as Anne's still recovering from the birthing process. CMH Gourmand was in Berkeley, but was able to enjoy some pizza samples squirreled away by Roland the Pierogi King. hungrywoolf and the rest of the judges had the enviable task of sampling all these homemade pies. How fun is that? An announcement was made about the new collaborative food site headed up by CMH Gourmand, hungrywoolf and taco drew, a site that will draw some much needed attention to our more obscure eateries in Central Ohio.
So I was going to bring a vegetable pizza from Slammer's bar, but no one bothered to open their establishment on Sunday. Maybe the St. Patty's Day party the day before took it's toll on the staff and they stayed home. I don't know. Whatever the case, they had patron's credit cards from the day before, and they were buzzing the place like hornets. Hyatt on Capital Square line chef Leah came to my rescue and knocked out to veggie pies in a heartbeat, and I made it to PGP right at 6:00 to sign in.
Thanks to the generous folks at Wild Goose for your generous hospitality. See you at BeerCamp.
