There is a good chance I will not be back in town in time for this. But if so I'm still in for bringing a pie.

Rockmastermike and I will bring something interesting from Mama Mimi's. He's working the Marathon so it won't be homemade this time.

My wife and I really wanted to finally make it to a Pizza Grand Prix but we've had a crazy week. My car was stolen on Thursday and she has the flu.:( So we will be at home taking it easy tonight. However, we will send a very friendly employee with our favorite zpizzas. Sante Fe for me and Greek for her.
I hope everyone enjoys them and has a great time.

Awesome, thanks for the pizzas, zpizza. And sorry to hear about the problems this past week. :(
Looks like I'm going to be getting a Minuteman specialty. Plank's is closed on Sunday's. Doh!

I never heard of ZPizza before, but the Santa Fe was great. I also loved the Surly Girl pizza - was that blue cheese? Portofino's had a great crispy crust; loved the one with banana peppers!
And I have to say my husband Joe did a great job with his tomatillo, cilantro chimiccuri, queso fresco and jalapeno pizza. I hope everyone liked it; next time we'll bring 2.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight! We weren't sure what sort of crowd we'd have on a Sunday, but it seemed like everyone had a pretty good time. Plenty of pizza to go around for everyone in attendance and plenty left over afterward. Big thanks to Dave Weber for bringing his sweet home-made pizza grill and knocking out pie after pie in the cold out back. Thanks to CMH Gourmand for making the whole thing possible, and thanks as always to the fine folks at Wild Goose for being such great hosts for this event.
Some of my personal favorites included the homemade "green" pizza mentioned above by dirtgirl, and a good bacon & pineapple slice that I don't recall the origins of. Lots of other good ones in there. It all starts to become a blur after 5 or 6 pieces. I'm glad I didn't hardly eat anything today, and probably won't be hungry again until Tuesday. ;) ha!

I heard about the green pizza but I didn't get to have a piece. It was receiving a lot of props! Bummer for me. I did discover a new pizza place that I will start ordering from. Panzera's in Grandview! That one really hit the spot. It was also the 2nd one I tried for the evening.
Dave's Weber-grill was awesome. Kudos for the crispy yet chewy dough!
Another awesome foodie event. Thanks CMHGlutton!

Some photos from tonight:

My favorite ended up being the spinach and olive from Yosick's. The tangy, rich herbed tomato sauce really made that one for me. Thanks to HeySquare for bringing that one.
It was nice to see everyone tonight!

The wrap up:
Let's begin with the kudos. This will read like an academy award speech that runs too long but all the thanks are justified.
Thanks to:
Wild Goose Creative for hosting
Walker for supporting and promoting
Dave from Webercam for cooking up 20 plus weber pizzas
Carmen from Surly Girl Saloon for bringing 4 SGS pies and hanging out after.
Donatos for donating and delivering 4 pizzas
Z Pizza for donating and delivering several pizzas
The guy from Houndoogs that put me on hold for 12 minutes and never came back to the phone so I could not order a pizza. The pizza that did not happen probably would have been the tipping point for my pending heart attack. Dude - your lack of customer service saved a life. You are a hero!
The early arrivals that helped set up the space.
Patientzero for help at the beginning and the end of the night. J - I glad you made it to a CU event. (Ask not what PGP can do for you, ask what you can do for PGP)
We were not sure how a Sunday night would work out but it did and everyone that came supported the event. Looks like there will be a PGP V.
All of the new faces tonight....thanks for coming.
Now the low down.
People drifted in and out during the night. My highest headcount was 45 people but the faces kept changing. We may have had more attendees.

Surly Girl Saloon - Surly Girl Pizza (4) = Cranberries, Pecans, Balsamic vinegar, Carmelized onions, gorgonzola cheese
There were a couple more pizzas that were not logged in including at least one other homemade pizza.
And now for the awards:
For best use of a bike rack:
Dave - used his bike rack to bring his grill to PGP.
And for best modification to a weber grill to make pizza

The winner - Dave - and the 600+ degrees of heat this little weber kicks out.

You are a hero! When I called Mama Mimi's to order mine, I was put on hold for seven minutes. I didn't say anything about it. I just figured Sunday evening was a busy time for pizza places. When I got there they had wrapped up a free tiramisu with my order and apologized profusely for the wait.

Thanks Jim and Walker. I had a blast. It was a great night.
By the next one, I may have a second version catching a good 850-900. Going to take some work, but I'm glad there are volunteers to assist with the tasting.

Yeah, Sunday was really enjoyable with all that incredible pizza and great people to enjoy it with on a nice Fall evening. Although I didn't work the whole room, it was great to meet the rest of you and match a face with an avatar. What a great night to share some Shipyard Brewing Company Pumpkinhead Ale as well. It really tastes like a pumpkin pie, or maybe even a brulee.
Dexter, thanks for bringing the extra z pizzas and I enjoyed sharing some brews. They really enjoyed your Berkeley Vegan pizza.
Carmen, the Surly Girl pizza was a killer with the sweet and savory flavors, and so nice to meet you. Give Lara a hug for me.
dirtgirl the south of the border pizza made by Joe was amazing! I wish I had his recipe.
Lorence it was great to chat with you about Children's Hospital and I checked out your blog, and I really like it.
hungrywoolf how nice to meet you and chat tacos and all. I wish I could have helped you judge the Paw Paw Festival food!
Dave the Weber grilled pizzas were the bomb. Thanks so much for all your treats. I reheated the basil mozzarella today for lunch and savored every mm of it as well.
Special thanks to Walker and CMH Gourmand for organizing the Gran Prix and to WGC for letting us use your space. Jim, the beer treats were received well. I finished off the Pinkus Hefeweizen last night and it was unfiltered heaven. See you Thursday at the Slow Foods Tasting at Hills Market.
