I just wanted to let everyone know that this movie will be onsale at Circuit City for $13.99 which is pretty damn good for a new release. This is the first day that the movie comes out on DVD. If you like this movie, this is a great deal for all the fans out there. 8)

I saw it on friday, It is what it is. Nothing bad about it, but nothing great either. Better than the 2nd one I thought.

i saw the movie this past saturday afternoon and i enjoyed the movie. they do a good job with some of the comedy in it. overall, great movie, they ended it good. they did leave room for a 4th installment but if you ask me, i say leave it at 3. if they did a 4th, i wouldn't be mad but i say leave it at 3. good movie. go see it.

Saw the third one on Friday night, and personally thought it stunk. I did not think it was better than the 2nd one, and after having watched the first one recently, I feel the sequels were completely tacked on and unnecessary. The one thing I did like about the sequels was the charachter of Davey Jones. Very cool and menacing, like that actor.
But I did not like this movie. The plot was overly complex and hard to follow, there was a lot of dialog, and basically one (ok maybe two) action piece(s) in the entire film. I wanted way more action. Pretty disappointed in it.

I liked it up until the very end. The end really left a lot of questions, and kind of pissed me off. I thought the action/drama ratio was OK.
If can unplug your brain and watch it for what it is, then you'll like it; however, if you are analytical like me, and you can easily find plot holes (which there are alot of) then you'll probably be disappointed or left confused/disappointed.
My biggest gripe was that Tia Dalma was in the whole movie because I can't understand a dang word she says. I even had to look up her character name on IMDB cause I couldn't understand what it was!
Just make sure you stay through the credits because there's more...

I saw it on Sunday, and I thought it was good, but I also thought it was very long. I was into the movie, but I was sitting there thinking, jeez, I am ready to go now. But the fact that Orlando Bloom is so good looking kept me there until the end.

I also saw the 3rd movie this weekend. I thought it was better than the 2nd one, but nowhere near as good as the 1st one. The 2nd and 3rd movies were DEFINITELY "tacked on" -- the first was supposed to be a stand-alone movie (in fact, Disney was worried most folks would think the whole concept of a movie based on a THEME PARK RIDE would be considered way too "lame" to get those key tween-thirtysomething demographics). Instead, the movie was a HUGE success, and sequels came along. That's Hollywood for ya.
Anyway, for me:
Pluses:
--Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Bill Nighy. All GREAT in their roles, and lots of fun.
--Effects were great, action was good.
--It ENDED (which alone makes it better than pt 2)
--many funny lines - just overall mindless fun.
Minuses:
--The ending was kind of rough. Seems intended specifically to write those characters out of possible sequels? Or at least advance things in time a bit before they could pop-up again. (Everyone DID stay for the blip after the credits, RIGHT?) It was nice that the bad guys got theirs, but I kept waiting for them to "fix" things, and they didn't... Nice that they stuck to their guns and didn't cave in to a 100% happy ending, but still - some movies just need that kind of thing.
--It IS long, but honestly 2 felt a LOT longer to me - this one moved along at a pretty good clip throughout.
--The multi-Captain Jack scenes were LAME & out of place. I could've dealt with just the first one, because it makes sense in a "he's completely insane" kind of way, but the subsequent scenes were just stupid.
--Does ANY of the major characters not try to double-cross another for their own personal gain at some point?
--It's only half a movie (the 2nd half, at least, but STILL...)

So, Anne & I watched it last night. Thanks a lot for telling us to stick around to the end Bonnie! :P Most worthless post-credit snippet ever. It was just showing something happening that we all could have easily assumed would happen. I thought it was going to be something more important!:?

Agreed. I think it could have been about 30 minutes shorter (just like #2) but it felt a lot less disjointed than #2. All in all I think it was pretty much what I expected it to be. A mix of easily-palatable comedy, action, and drama slathered with a heaping helping of special effects, and rolled out during the summer months when people are looking for these types of things. It may not win any awards, but if you want a big dumb summer popcorn flick you should be satisfied enough if you don't mind the long sit.

arrive late so you don't have to sit through that horrible Transformers preview. I am from the Transformers toy generation and was a big fan but man, that movie looks awful.

I thought it looked about as good as a live-action Transformers movie could look. Which again, would fall under the "big dumb popcorn summer flick" genre.

Guess I'm in the minority here, but even as popcorn summer movies go I thought it was bad.
The whole Calypso thing, when she got giant? That was totally stupid!
I admit when I heard they were making a movie out of a theme park ride I was skeptical, but the first one (mainly thanks to Depp) was fun enough that I enjoyed it. But they just totally ran it into the ground with the sequels.
Oh, and Transformers looks awesome. Giant robots beating each other up, what more could you ask for? Gotta be better than Pirates at any rate.

Should I let you in on the secret that the whole movie revolves around two teens finding love and growing into adulthood?
cause that sounds sweet......

LOL...I don't know Vest, it sounds like the boy/girl thing is a small subplot from the plot outline I read, although ONE of the previews focuses on it (probably to draw a different viewership).

Well, the way I see it is I'm going to see Transformers opening weekend even if it is the worst reviewed movie of all time.
So I might as well try to be positive about it.

Dang. I thought it looked cool! The only thing that looks weird is that they can apparently change mass... like, go from a boombox to a semi truck... that's pretty retarded.
You would think that studios would get it by now; If you base a movie off of a tv show, comic book, or ANYTHING, keep it as close to the original as possible because the true fans will flip the hell out and then we're all stuck reading their rants and bitches on columbus und... uh.... i wasn't saying anything. hehe.
