Piano Lessons In Your Home is a professional music school dedicated to providing excellent instruction to students of all ages. We believe that studying music for many years plays an integral part in developing a persons' intellect, character, talent and overall ability to be successful. The school provides lessons in the students' homes and hosts concerts and recitals. 2011 marked our 15 year anniversary serving central Ohio families.
Currently, we are seeking talented and personable applicants who are interested in becoming part of our long-term staff. Selected applicants would begin teaching immediately and must be comfortable working with both serious students as well as those who need a more relaxed and recreational approach to learning. While we recognize that there are many talented musicians in our area, please be aware of the following professional requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Performance, Music Education, Pedagogy, Composition or Theory
* Two Years Minimum of teaching consistent private lessons
* Experience performing as a soloist or in ensembles
* Experience performing and playing/singing classical and popular music
* Teachers who teach beginner to advanced level students and who have prepared students for festivals and competitions are STRONGLY encouraged to apply!
Positions are available for piano, voice, guitar and violin. We are also looking to expanding our program to include lessons for general elementary and middle school band instruments.
Teachers must be willing to accept a minimum of ten students. Instructors arrange their own teaching schedules, and define the specific geographical areas where they would like to teach however at this time, our specific needs are for the north end of Columbus - specifically Dublin, Marysville, Powell, Galena, Lewis Center, Westerville and New Albany. Reliable transportation and a two year contractual commitment are expected. Teachers are paid based on their formal education, experience and the number of students they teach. We have graduated pay rates so there is room for growth. PLIYH has a Continuing Education Program that offers free courses, workshops and concerts. We also have a music book store and a Lending Library for teachers and families.

For the formal audition/interview, applicants perform 3 selections which represent their performance aptitude and the highest level of student they are comfortable teaching. Repertoire does not have to be memorized.
