Shocking - people on CU are bashing something from the suburbs. If this place was downtown you would think it was the greatest concept ever created.
Chris Doody knows what he is doing. I will not be surprised if there are 250 open across the country in 10 years.
gotta agree on this one. I worked at the original Bravo approximately 150 years ago, and to this day I wish most of my coworkers could go through the Bravo training program. I still see their restaurants as above being simply chain concepts, because the spaces feel great and the food is always good. it might not be cutting edge or avant garde, but I still enjoy eating at Brio (and yes, I know they sold the concept for a billion dollars, but they still started it and set it in motion).
Another good thing about the Doodies - at least when they still owned their brands - they bought their managers into partial ownership of their restaurants, so General Managers had a vested interest in its success and sticking around. Way too many restaurants abuse their managers and then fire them (or make their lives miserable) when they start to take too much ownership and be too independent. They ran the business like people who had actually worked in the business and wanted to make it better, not just jerks with too much money who want to start the next big restaurant.
