this is brand new so we're still in beta and hammering out the details...
but i'm the newly-crowned director of a newly-founded division within our agency, which i created -- sort of an agency within an agency -- and our services and function will be geared towards designing insurance programs and providing support exclusively for:
cultural entrepreneurs + independent small businesses
collectives + non-profit cultural organizations
self-employed, creative individuals...
...who create products, services & experiences of social & cultural meaning.
for us, after 50 years, this marks a re-newed investment in the local cultural economy and thus the future of columbus.
and i couldn't be more psyched.
because make no mistake: there's a direction connection between a healthy cultural economy and prosperous economic growth. and cultural distinction is a competitive advantage to retaining and attracting creative talent and young professionals.
really, this is what i've been doing all along unofficially within the context of a mid-sized agency -- working with whom i've been working with -- but now it's official and i've got resources and i'm building it from the ground up, on my terms, with whom and how i wanna.
so this won't be your momma's insurance agency.
meeting with treefort yesterday to partner on this, adam mentioned how great it'd be if there were a one-stop shop for small businesses with professional services like insurance, an attorney, an accountant, a real estate agent, etc etc etc. that's my hope for the future. so we're looking to partner. until then, we're ready to press forward with a like-minded coalition of the willing.
