PERFORMANCE, POETRY AND FOOD VENDOR APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR 2010 COLUMBUS ARTS FESTIVAL
The Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable is accepting applications for performing artists, poets and food vendors for the 2010 event, June 4-6 in the Discovery District downtown.
Applications for performing artists are due Fri., Jan. 15. Applications for food vendors are due Fri., Jan. 22, and applications for poets are due Mon., Feb. 10. To download an application, visit http://www.gcac.org .
In 2010, the Columbus Arts Festival, produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, will celebrate its 49th year of bringing the best in fine art and fine craft to Columbus. The Festival hosts approximately 230 national and international visual artists each year, chosen by a jury from more than 1,000 applications. Gourmet food and beverages, hands-on art activities for the entire family, exhibitions of local student artwork and music and spoken word performances round out Columbus' favorite outdoor summer event.
Poets chosen to perform at the event will read at appointed times in the Poetry Corner tent  a location dedicated to poetry performance. Musical performers will play on either the Main or Club stages. Food vendors will receive a booth space to sell goods throughout the event. Creative menus are encouraged.
