We're gearing up for another fantastic bike parking season! As we begin to get things going, events scheduled, equipment maintained and made, I want to hear your thoughts.

Where do you want us this year?

What was awesome last year?

What sucked royally?

How can we improve our service?

Probably the most important: do you want to volunteer?

If you are business or corporation looking to put together some community service opportunities for your employees, we would LOVE to work with you. Parents, are your kids looking for service hours? Send them to us (and get a 2 hour break)! Are you planning an event or festival and want people to bike? Shoot me an email and we'll talk.

We have an Earth Day worksite planned this year to help build out some new equipment. We have a really awesome fence system designed by one of our volunteers that will no longer require the use of wasteful zip ties.

We are also rolling out a new website in the coming month(s). Stay tuned for event listings and volunteer opportunities!

Still looking for some more folks to sign up for the worksite this weekend. We have some goodies (free beer/Jeni's token good at the celebration next week) for those who come out and mix concrete with us.

We are also looking for people to come help with our two kick off events next week. We will be parking bikes at OSU Spring Game and Earth Day Celebration. Come be part of the awesome!

Come park with us at OSU Spring Scrimmage and the Earth Day Festival this weekend. We will be at our usual place for OSU, off the bike path at Woody Hayes Dr, NW corner of the 'Shoe. We're moving, along w/ the festival, to the back part of Franklin Park. You can find the corral at Franklin Park S and Rhoads Avenue, behind the berry house at the community garden.

We still need volunteers for OSU, PM if interested.

I have been truly slacking this year on web and social media updates.

Don't forget we are at every OSU home game this year regardless of rain, snow, sleet or hail. Same location as always, north of the 'Shoe, off the bike path and Woody Hayes Drive and east of the river.

We will also be set up at the North Market for the Market to Market ride October 8th.

Thanks to some balmy (well, balmy by Ohio standards) November weather we had a fantastic end to our 2011 season. We parked over 200 bikes 2 weeks ago and came close to breaking 200 tonight with 196 bikes.

We want to thank all of our amazing volunteers, many who put in 6, 10 and even 12 hour days, who make this possible every event. We want to thank the cyclists who use our service, the events who saw value in our work and the donors and sponsors that help support our work.

Even though the equipment has been put up for the year, our work doesn't end. We have big plans for 2012 and the Columbus ~~Bic~~ Bikecentennial, will you join us?

Near Huntington Park (Scioto Mile?) in the summer would be another winner. Once the Dodridge bridge is complete I think we'll see good use of the Olentangy Greenway to this area.

I should have added "events". We are looking, provided we can secure funding, advertisers/sponsors, at doubling our events for '12. Working with the city and other entities to discuss having us at events at Scioto Mile and Columbus Commons is definitely on our list.

Would love to do Clipper Games but logistically it's hard (though not anywhere near impossible) given the 2-3 day in a row game schedule. Need a full time staff to handle that.

Understand. Maybe a few mid-summer noon games. Daytime round-trip that some families could do.
