I don't know if Micro Center actually installs new stuff or not, but I'm going to upgrade my motherboard & CPU (I'd do it myself except for the motherboard part). I'd like to find a place I can buy it AND have it installed conveniently if possible.

Is this a laptop or a tower?
It's actually very very easy, as long as you have 2 opposable thumbs and can use a screwdriver. A good place to buy parts on the cheap at wholesale rates is pricewatch.com

It's a desktop, it's just one upgrade I don't want to mess with myself.
I'm starting to hate new technology. I have an AMD single core processor now, but it's on the old 939 socket. I could get a dual core for the 939 socket...for like 500 bucks!?!?
Or, I could get a new mother board with AM2+...and the quad core processor...for less money.
insane.

not trying to burst your bubble but their is a good chance you're going to need a new power supply to get the most out of your new gear. Some of the new chips can suck a lot of juice. Which means get a new case and power supply and then the install would be very easy for you :)

Yes, they do. I was out there buying a new HD for my laptop last week. It was $50 for the install, which isn't bad considering they wanted twice that much to do it at the Apple Store.
I opted to take it home and do it myself though. ;)

Nah, I have 4 gigs of RAM and two 8800GTs SLI, and I'm straight on power supply.

I second that. My company does a lot of business with them and they are solid.

nice one, if you're running SLI it sounds like your board isn't so bad anyway :D

It's really not, but I need the AM2+ socket for the quad core :(

You are probably going to need new memory. Socket 939 boards usually use DDR whereas AM2 uses DDR2.
I am not sure if you need the power of the quad core, but if not you may want to look for a used dual core 939. I've seen some go for pretty cheap.
