Has anyone noticed those barren concrete triangles that are part of the Cap? They are on the NE and SW quadrants of the intersection of Park Street and Goodale, and all they really do is collect leaves and garbage.
When they were building the cap, I was sure they were going to do something with them or put something there, but they never did. What is this, some kind of observation deck for the traffic on 670? It seems like a major waste of space, so here are my suggestions for the mystery triangles:
benches, planters, trash receptacles, ashtrays, pocket park; bike racks/corral, scooter, motorcycle parking; public art, sculptures, murals on the concrete; food cart vendors, kiosks, the Bluth family frozen banana stand; holiday decor; any combination of the above. This area could really help connect High Street to Park Street and Goodale Park.
Any other suggestions or does anyone know why they were built?
I also think they should do something more interesting with the back sides of the Cap buildings over the highway. Currently they are brown walls.
