My honey vanilla bean is being consumed in a hotel room with probably ginger ale. Ghetto fabulous.

In general, the original OYO pairs well with mildly bitter things. I tried a few different amari and found that three parts OYO to one part Cynar was a surprisingly good combination -- one that (confirming something Mr. Hall noted earlier) made two different people who tasted it without knowing what it was identify it as some sort of unusual whiskey.
It's not quite there, though... it's improved a bit by backing off a little on the Cynar and adding a hefty dose of Bitterman's lemon bitters, but it's still a work in progress.
