I can't even begin to explain how sad this made me for no apparent reason. I didn't know the kid to begin with, but it affected me to see him go. I watched a few times, saw the father on TV, felt his passion and angst. To think that a man could be put through the torture that he has been, to walk the path he's had to walk, and then out of the fucking blue to have a tree crush his head...it makes me strangely insane. It makes me more empathetic than I care to be, and makes me more involved than I should be.
This family has been through as much as anyone ever should, and if anyone...SERIOUSLY...reading this, knows anything about the kid, turn in an anonymous tip or whatever you have to do. This is horrific. The family needs to be left the fuck alone I guess, but I send anything good I have to them tonight in the hopes they can find some peace.

I'd post a more detailed reply but you've summed up exactly what I was thinking in yours. That whole situation is just awful. :(
