I'm only going to talk about the ones I care about...
Best Supporting Actor: Bardem was great and crazy, but the performance by Casey Affleck was outstanding, and the performance of Tom Wilkinson made a mediocre movie excellent. BAD CHOICE
Best Supporting Actress: Tilda Swinson was just creepy in this role, and mostly because she looks like an alien...not because she was so good. Saoirse Ronan put in the best performance in this category, hands down, but Cate Blanchett was still better than Swinson. BAD CHOICE.
Best Lead Actress: Mari..something something...I really hope she was good, being she was in the only movie I didn't see. I want to tackle her and make her stop speaking though watching the speech. NO IDEA BECAUSE I'LL NEVER WATCH THIS MOVIE
Cinematography: There Will Be Blood...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? Don't get me wrong, this movie deserves all the acclaim it gets...EXCEPT THIS AWARD. Both Jesse James and Atonement blew this movie away in the category. This is getting stupid. BAD CHOICE.
Documentary, Feature: Believe it or not, I'll weigh in on this, because I saw of all them but the dancing African thing. I actually have to say, this was a great Doc...FINALLY....GOOD CHOICE (mostly because they didn't pick Sicko...which shouldn't be in the category).
Original Screenplay: Stripper wins. Stripper name, stripper tats, stipper dress. Her family doesn't love her...regardless of the undeserved Oscar. I would have voted for Ernest Goes to Camp before this.
Best Actor: DDL...finally the right choice. GOOD CHOICE!
Best Director/Best Picture: No Country For Old Men: On this, I do agree. My mother called me earlier today and asked me to explain this movie with the Oscars coming up tonight. I had absolutely no idea what to say. Finally I said, Imagine a movie about great characters, real characters who are just living their lives...and that a movie shows that, only some tragic or crazy event occurs they have to react to. Only the thing is, the "event" or the "situation" never takes over the people. That's a Coen film.
