CREATING: to cause to come into being
COMPLETENESS: wholeness, integrity, circularity
CREATING COMPLETENESS is a series of encaustic wax paintings inspired by the uniquely human desire for self-awareness and completeness. Through stream-of-consciousness painting, Burkholder elicits a subconscious repeated pattern of abstract circles. In belief systems, the circle symbolizes completion; the embodiment of spiritual energy; eternity; a mirror in which everything is contained and revealed.
Launched in August 2010, TheMetropreneur.com is a local online resource devoted to small business development and entrepreneurship. Its aim is to tell the stories of Central Ohio's business community, foster regional economic development and assist entrepreneurs with its resource-heavy focus.
