Description from the site:
We’re the Levitch family from Scottsdale, Arizona, and we’ve embarked on an adventure to stay away from national retailers and restaurants for an entire year. Call us nutty, but we’re tired of spending our weekends navigating the parking lot of Costco and buying poor quality clothing at Old Navy. We’re giving ourselves a time out – 12 months away from all of the big name stores and restaurants.
Something fun to follow. I think most readers of CU are aware of the community benefits to shopping/dining/buying locally, but this type of extreme commitment to an ideal can be both eyeopening and intimidating to anyone not looking for such a large abrupt lifestyle change.
Either way, will be interesting to see if they can stick with it.
