I'll tell ya, I miss the awesome Sunday brunch, where they served vegan Belgian waffles, with a scrumptious creamy dollop of divine goodness, fresh local organic berries and 100% pure maple syrup, french toast, sausage biscuits they called "griddle cakes", fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee/ w vegan creamer. On their daily menu, I miss the falafel, it was the best falafel sandwich in town, I miss the empanadas both savory and the sweet, I miss the hummus and fresh bread, the chili and corn bread. Frankly, I'm pissed they closed, and its been months.....I liked going there for brunch either before or after the Goodale Park summer music series and they canceled Sunday's before that series even ended. I showed up several times with people in tow and all with great anticipation to that brunch only to be met, without explanation or notice, with "CLOSED" on the door. Once had a reason, a bar mitzvah (understandable, OK, they are a small business, it happens) the others didn't, so it wasn't understood until they finally put a note up saying they had ended their Sunday brunch. These were affordable and amazing delectables that were a unique offering and vanished from their brief development but steadily growing in awareness and support and greatly beloved by the vegan community. I've been quite vociferous about this situation with them. I'm glad they are doing something, here's hoping they bring that brunch back as part of the equation. They aren't the only game for great, affordable, vegan food locally anymore. I'm sure people can relate to how aggravating it is when you have your mind and your taste buds set on something, have talked a bunch of people into going, only to discover they are closed when they are expected to be open.
