I think the 5xNWers will be disappointed in them (especially after sponsoring the Pizza Crawl).
Bono Pizza

I noticed that the Grandview sidenote has been taken off of their site.

Just FYI - Bono is no longer BYOB - at least for now.

Yay!... not that I don't order the same thing all the time, this is still good reading.

What happened to the BYOB?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Regarding BYOB, is it all beer or can you still buy it from the carryout they are inside of and drink it there?
Posted 1 year ago # -
No consumption of alcohol inside or outside. There was an anonymous complaint against Bono and the carry-out, if I heard correctly.

Drat, I guess since the carryout actually sells alcohol drinking on the premises won't fly. I think if Bono had their own space (and did not sell it) BYOB would be legal.
I really enjoyed having a beer with my Bono.

did this make the board elsewhere?
Bill Yerkes selling bono and planning a new taco venture in the Short North:

That is surprising. I am glad to hear he will be back in the SN (the location on Northwest Blvd was literally a hole in the wall), but tacos have never really excited me. I hope that will change.

Looks like the store is in a major overhaul. Looks to be increase retail size by 2.5X AND adding a second floor with two apartments. Reading the PDF more, the apartments will be above the new retail. It will also be called Badhwar Plaza.

That does seem like a major change. Seems like an odd time to sell. Business will surely be improved by the improved center but unless the landlord is kicking in quite a bit of cash for the remodel of BONOpizza, it could be an expensive switch.

The carryout seems to do good business with a lot of regulars (mostly booze, cigarettes, and lottery). My guess is that if BonoPizza stays their rent will go up...
side note: auditor's website shows Ravi Badhwar bought the carryout in 1994 for $180k.

maybe has something to do with the planned renovation project they are doing to the kroger behind it?

Jake wasn't aware of anything when Rockmastermike and I stopped in tonight, so it's still a long way away from happening. OTOH, there are DESSERT PIES available here and now.
