Ohio Roller Girls are getting ready to hit the road this weekend and go to the Philly Roller Girls' East Coast Roller Derby Extravaganza. We take on Montreal Roller Derby on Sunday morning in our first international game ever.
Once we're back in town though, we have a few events coming up for all of you to enjoy right here in Columbus.
First off, on Tuesday 6/30 from 7-9pm, come out and enjoy the History of American Whiskey at Barrel 44. For $20, you get three types of whiskey, appetizers and a gift bag. Plus, you can chat about our awesome Philly trip. $5 from each ticket goes to OHRG.
Then, on 7/18, watch both Ohio Roller Girls teams face off against Fort Wayne Derby Girls. This is our last scheduled home game this year, so if you haven't made it out yet, now is the time! Tickets are $10 (purchase here) for the double header that starts at 4pm at Central Ohio Roller Hockey (941 Burrell Ave in Grandview.)
After that, comes one of our largest fundraisers, when we present a Cornhole Tournament. 64 teams will pay $20 each to enter and compete for $1,000 worth of prize money on 7/25 at Quaker Steak and Lube at Polaris. Sign up here. And don't be surprised if you see me there playing in my skates. I figure it's one of the few things that could improve my cornhole game. :)
Also, if you are a woman 21 and over who is looking for a new athletic challenge, we'll be holding our 2009 tryouts on July 21. There's info on our website about requirements, and pre-tryout open skate sessions as well.
