I worked up a small (10 question)survey about the perceptions of Ohio wines. I would appreciate a moment of your time to fill it out.
This is in preparation for the second edition of the Ohio v Michigan Wine Clash in the fall as well as for an article I am working on. While I will probably share this data with Ohio wine groups at some upcoming events, this project is solely my own and there is no commercial interests involved.

Just a quick anecdote:
I had never paid any attention to Ohio wines prior to attending/volunteering at the North Market Wine Fest two years ago. We ended up trying out a few places and really enjoying them.
For someone like me who isn't a big wine drinker to begin with, I thought it was a great opportunity to try out a whole bunch of different places at once, connect with some of the wine makers themselves, and then purchase a few bottles to take home. :D

You know, I went to the Wine Festival last year, and it translated into "Damn, what's with all the really sweet wine?"

Retail, yes... Restaurant, uh.. not that I can recall.
We rarely get wine in restaurants, and when we do I never really think to ask for Ohio specific wines. Usually just go with whatever is recommended since I feel like I know so little about wine overall.

It might be wise to set up so that wineries that mainly produce sweet wines (the majority) are grouped together and dry wines (the quality) are together and well signed. Lots of Ohio wine drinkers, especially new wine drinkers, prefer the sweeter stuff, but nothing reduces even a casual wine drinker's opinion of Ohio wines than the ubiquity of sweet.
