I know there are some OHRG fans here on CU, so I thought I'd post about the upcoming regional tournament. In addition to being the first-ever East Regional tournament, this will also mark the first home game ever for the OHRG's all-star team -- last year, we played entirely on the road.
Press release below.
Tickets for the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) East Regional Tournament, the Heartland Havoc, are now on sale at BrownPaperTickets.com.
The tournament, which will be held at Battelle Hall in the Greater Columbus Convention Center August 17-19, 2007, will feature 12 teams from the WFTDA’s East Region. The top four teams will advance to the national tournament to be held in Austin, TX in September 2007, where they will compete against the top four teams from February’s West Regional Tournament, the Dust Devil.
Heartland Havoc will mark the first time an official WFTDA tournament has been held in the East Region, defined as East of the Mississippi River. Twelve full-length bouts over the course of the three-day tournament are sure to please both hard-core and new flat-track derby fans alike.
