Another shorts festival at the St. James Tavern?
Yes, because we wanted to have the longest titled theatre event of the year. Also, we had such a good time with the shorts festival we did during Red, White and Boom last Summer that we thought this would be a perfect night. It’s a Tuesday night. It’s a night when a lot of people are out to dinner with their loved ones.
So why would they go to the James?
But, then we thought a lot of people aren’t out to dinner with their loved ones. And even a lot of people who will be, might like something a little different than the usual Valentine’s Day dinner. So, they can come see the shows early and then go to dinner or vice versa. Or they can make an entire night of it there.
The plays are all about Valentine’s Day?
In a broader sense, they are all about love and being on dates. Some on Valentine’s Day, some not. Amanda Bauer had the great idea of having the first show be about a first date and the last show be about a last date. And the 2 shows in between feature couples who are on a date somewhere in between first and last.
