So, I thought I would start a new thread specifically about the Occupy Columbus, local 'movement'. My thinking is, the Occupy Wall St. discussion is more about the initial gathering (in NY) that has become the Occupy Together 'movement' (which is national or continental with the gatherings happening in Canada as well). Whereas the Occupy Columbus is very local and will probably deal with specifically local concerns. Hence why I think a new thread is appropriate.
As for my own part, I was hesitant in supporting this 'movement', mostly because the political opportunists that swarm over these sorts of things have had enormous success in appropriating them (see: Tea Party). Some Democrats (and their partisan allies, some Unions f.ex.) have already injected themselves into it; but I am doubting the success they will have.
So, I'm planning on going tomorrow, and I'm interested to see how this all unfolds.
OCCUPY COLUMBUS, OH 10/10/11 @ the statehouse. starts @ 8am.
