You know, here's the kicker for me. I've been poking around at the other candidate's and their spiritual advisers...ones who weren't renounced, rejected, or even came under significant fire...and it's fairly interesting. Especially since blaming the people of the US for 9/11 or other disasters, saying God has damned America, etc. isn't really all that unique...it's just the hype it gets that is.
Mike Huckabee: Spiritual Advisor, Jay Cole
Among Jay Cole's best work, is his Save Our Nation website. Here's a couple highlights...regarding 9/11, and Falwell's statements that it was God's retribution on America for gays, the ACLU, etc.
Today there was a memorial service in NY for those who lost their lives to the dastardly behavior and corrupt actions of fake religionists. There were two occasions where services were halted for "two minutes of silence." I recoil at the very sound of those words. Silence?! For WHAT!? If it is a matter of being silent for two minutes to pray to God the Creator that's great. But what on earth are the rest of the people doing. If they are talking to THEIR God they may as well take a nap or bark in the wind. There is not another God to hear them.I shudder to think about the incident with my friend Jerry Falwell. Jerry said exactly what should have been said, and precisely what the Bible says is coming on a people who have turned their backs on the Lord, and those who have "Gone a whoreing after other Gods". He had absolutely NO reason for apologizing.
On the same page, he has a rant about the Black Panthers, concluding
Today the Black Panther party is Moslem...back then they were Communists...but they have always hated all non-blacks.

And apparently, mentioning the KKK is a big thing. Here's how he feels about Mormons:
"As you know from history, their original intent--[Mormon founding fathers Joseph] Smith and Brigham Young--was to take over the United States of America, they weren't just far behind the KKK in their efforts."

John McCain: Endorsement/Support from John Hagee
Apparently the theme of disasters striking the US being our own fault in these guys, as this is what Hagee thought of Hurrican Katrina:
All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that. The newspaper carried the story in our local area, that was not carried nationally, that there was to be a homosexual parade there on the Monday that the Katrina came. And the promise of that parade was that it would was going to reach a level of sexuality never demonstrated before in any of the other gay pride parades.
So I believe that the judgment of God is a very real thing. I know there are people who demur from that, but I believe that the Bible teaches that when you violate the law of God, that God brings punishment sometimes before the Day of Judgment, and I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.

His opinion of Catholics isn't too sweet either:
Indeed, for the past few decades, he has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church. For example, he likes calling it ‘The Great Whore,’ an ‘apostate church,’ the ‘anti-Christ,’ and a ‘false cult system.’
