Merc, I share your pain. Yankee Trader closing was one of the worst bits of development news all year. I'm still in denial and turn my head when nearby so I can't see the empty shelves or whatever's in there.
+1 StarBeacon @ Goodale, was there a couple years ago and the selection was immense, cheap and well edited.
If you haven't already, check out Archie McPhee online, awesome.

I've ordered stuff through Oriental Trading Company before. http://www.orientaltrading.com/
Unfortunately they aren't local, but they have a big selection and work great if you are ordering in bulk.
