So I wanted to run a little side project past everybody and see what you guys think. Essentially, I've been frustrated how Columbus doesn't have much of an image, and even people in Columbus don't really know what to think of the city and how it compares to other cities. What I see happening is that there are a ton of things happening in Columbus, it's just really hard to find. In NYC, for example, the action is in your face. In Columbus, it's hidden.
For my side project, aptly name Now In Columbus, I'm looking to help bring those things out in the open. Think of it as a public version of the CD 101 picture pages . The difference is that everybody can submit anything they want, whether they go to an outdoor movie screening in Goodale park or just discovered their new favorite coffee shop.
With the right community, it could be a fun way to snapshot what's happening in the city, so everybody can see what's going on. I've run similar projects over the last few years (including my own wedding), and people always have a good time with this stuff.
So here's the link: http://www.nowincolumbus.com
To submit something, just send a text or picture message to post@nowincolumbus.com. 99% of phones can do this, no registration or anything required, your post shows up max 10 minutes later.
Let me know what you think, even if you think it's total cr*p, that's cool too.
Thanks.
