A Murder of Crows. I think most people just saw Cuba Gooding Jr. and Tom Beringer as the stars of this one and discounted it, but it's a great crime thriller.

LOVED that movie.
For me? The Fisher King, Glengary Glen Ross, Miller's Crossing, After Dark My Sweet, and actually just to continue the Tom Berenger theme, I'll toss in Shoot to Kill where he did a "buddy movie" with Sidney Poitier I thought was great.
p.s. Berenger is a very underrated actor, and Platoon somehow didn't change that after a truly legendary perormance.

LOL...I gotta tell ya, I've probably seen each of them 20 times...and that would account for like 80% of their all time viewership ;)

I didn't realie Pulp Fiction was a "lesser known" movie? Didn't it win one of those "lesser known" oscars?

P.S.S. Cast of Glengary alone should have secured more viewers, but it was an almost direct adaptation of a play. Cast?
Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris, Jonathon Pryce
Pretty insane really.

LOL...well I like the Godfather a lot too, but didn't list it ;)
That said, there's some more unknown Tarantino movies (True Romance) that could use more heat.

has anyone seen Bubba Hotep? I love Bruce Campbell!

I'm sorry but I think Grandma's Boy is so so funny. And i don't think a lot of people know about it. I know it's not cultural, but it always cracks me up.

I've seen it.
I love Bruce, but didn't really care for the film.

I could pull out a list of dozens easily since I tend to gravitate towards the obscure. To keep it simple and span some genres :
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is probably the best film made in the last 10 yrs. Scratch that. It is the best. Needs a theatre or at least a wide screen to appreciate the visual, but the story will compel regardless.
Night Watch is a well-crafted and unexpected Russian occult fantasy.
Brick. Film noir set in high school. Unique film.
Born in Brothels Documentary about the children of prostitutes in India who are given cameras to document their lives.
Without linking, here a few more :
Morvern Callar
This Film is Not Yet Rated
Crimson Rivers
House of Flying Daggers
Ghost in the Shell 2
