Anyone else pick this up? Just came out. We pre-ordered on Amazon. First time we've done that in awhile, but so far it's worth it.

Get the Video Plugin

Similar to New Super Mario Bros DS, the Wii version is a 2D platformer that mixes the best elements of Super Mario 3 with Super Mario World and a light sprinkling of some of the other games.

I'm only on World 4 in single player, but so far it's quite fun. Some levels are a bit more challenging than I thought they would be too. Kudos to Nintendo for not making it too easy.

I've only played 2-player in the co-op multiplayer mode, but it is an awesome new twist on the classic gameplay. I imagine it's quite frantic with 4 players. Can't wait to give that a shot soon.

Anyone else play it yet?

I picked this up on Sunday and have played it on and off the last few days. It's pretty fun. The only problem I'm having is that I tend to not move onto new levels till I've totally cleared each one, which can be a bit frustrating on some of the tougher ones.

I've only played 2P as well, and made the mistake of trying it out before looking at the controls or playing the 1st level, so my wife and I pretty much just took turns accidentally killing each other. 4P seems like it would be insane.

Yeah, I have to imagine that 4P "cooperative" could quickly become a game of "deathmatch". ;) Most people can old take so many accidental deaths before they start seeking revenge. ;)

I've only played the game with 4 players. Since we've beat the game (through warping), I have no desire to play the rest of the levels alone. I'll just wait until I can get the gang back together.

I've done everything (there is seriously a screen that comes up and tell you so)

it's a great game. the coin battles are fun for 4 player because the point is to kill each other where as in the co-op you just do that by accident. (most of the time... PA calls the game 'marriage poison' )

Now I'm just waiting for them to announce a release date on mario galaxy 2.....

Currently, I'm in the Star World with 4 players and, as you said, it is total mayhem. 2p seems to be somewhat easier.

The first time through we neglected most of the star coins. Going back and finding some of them is a challenge.

I never played this game on Nintendo so the wii is my first time playing this game and I suck at it! I can't get past the spinny-square world even with flying power.

I end up getting frustrated and playing my daughter's Animal Crossing, which consists of mainly just walking around. I'm getting pretty good at that one.
