Sorry but your assumption that I agree with all of your views is incorrect. My "best candidate" comment was based on the fact that she is has fulfilled her campaign goals as a secretary of state. And clearly identifies her objectives as US senate candidate. I can't say that for the other guys in this race. I also think that you have to judge the quality of the experience that person has attained.
i never said you agreed with all of her views...i said the "one you agree with the most."
Sec. of State is supposed to be a very non-partisan statewide position and she was clearly one of the MOST partisan of the bunch. Her antics in NE Ohio are disappointing to say the least. And if i were to judge the experience of the 3 listed candidates, i would say Portman has the most, high-level experience.
NE Ohio had one of the best elections in a long time in 08. I think Cleveland’s Board of Elections needed shaking up. She fired the D’s and the R’s.
I guess I do agree with her the most. She has consistently articulated what her views are on current issues we are faced with. I can't say the same for the other two. I think Fisher will try to drown her voice out with money through TV ads. And Portman is waiting until after the primary.
The quality of Portmans "high level" experience can be called into question. He can keep his bush appointee experience all to himself. Even if he had good ideas he would be in the minority in the senate and would never realize any of his initiatives that would presumably help our state.
Also the dog thing was a joke and was a very successful fundraiser. There are a lot of pet owners that got a kick out of that. I don’t think you can judge someone on their level of humor. No matter how bad said humor may seem. And I don’t think desperate is a good description. Win or lose, Fisher has outspent his opponents considerably in all his races. I think the last election Fisher won on his own was in the early nineties. That’s almost twenty years ago.
