A question I often get from my friends and wonder to myself, "What new restaurant concepts or franchises would be great for Downtown Columbus?"
My friends tend to travel a bit, so we often see and experience concepts in other cities that might add value to the landscape here. Some ideas:
ESPNZone
An Emeril's Restaurant
Montgomery Inn Columbus
House of Blues
Authentic Cajun
Moroccan / African
"Russian Tea Room" Concept
A Pizza Kitchen that serves NY, Chicago and Tuscan Pizzas
Southern Fusion
A Restuarant with a view (a penthouse view concept)
Any other ideas?

And I second the penthouse restaurant (the Sundial at the Westin Atlanta comes to mind)
I think we need something like The Chicago Diner on Halsted in Chicago. I know Dragonfly V is wonderful, but it's also wonderfully expensive. I could get a great meal at The Chicago Diner for under $12. I loved that place, and I'm not vegan/vegetarian.

we are getting a montgomery inn in dublin. as far as a restaurant with a penthouse view, that goes to M at Miranova tower downtown.

I ate at an all you can eat, all vegetarian buffet chinese place in Memphis TN that was awesome.
Every dish you could imagine, all vegetarian, all for $4 all you can eat. And it came with free drinks.
I think I gave my stomach a hernia.

I thought it would be cool to have like a cocktail lounge or something on the top floor of one of the high rises. Like the Huntington building or something.

Dragonfly has a brunch buffet on Saturdays for $20. There are several offerings and it comes with tea or coffee. Great way to get all the vegan fare you want without paying a lot.

In the Huntington Building,There isn't anything up there right now. OAL has had its fundraiser in the vacant 34th floor the past two years. It's pretty awesome up there.

M is not in a penthouse location but rather the ground floor.
Nationwide apparently used to have a top floor restaurant.
The Hyatt Capital Square needs to do something similar to the L'Atitude 41 spot. Such a great space is wasted on their current restaurant. Glam it up a bit.
What this city truly needs is to market itself and appeal to a generation of young chefs, citing the most affordable residential rental rates, great economic growth, and just a great city!

There used to be a restaurant at the top of the Nationwide building. People would ride the glass elevator to the top for a fancy meal with a view. That's been gone for a while I guess - and only employees are allowed to ride the elevator now.
I would love more cheap and healthy options. Vegetarian fare. Crazy ethnic food. Particularly living in Victorian Village, I find it's hard to grab a bite for under $10 that isn't bar food.

I'm a grad student. $20 for brunch is a lot to me! :D Especially when it comes to doing things in two with a partner.

I agree with the Moroccan recommendation. There's no place that serves bastilla over here or tajine for that matter. Wouldn't mind a good spanish bar/restaurant with those legs of ham hanging all over.
