A new restaurant called Park Creek Kitchen opened up where Arlington Pizza & Meatballs used to be. It appears to be the first place in this area to serve alcohol, which alone might make it worth checking out. It's good to see some life being breathed into this area, what with the numerous empty spaces including the defunct cafe Dino's Cappuccinos. For those who haven't been by here UA's downtown has recently been suffering from a high vacancy rate when compared to a similarly sized and healthy stretch of Parsons in OTE.

I've always thought that area needed a couple of nice full service restaurants. Ever sense I was middle school at Jones I always heard the residents fought any attempt of a restaurant trying to open ... or gasp any restaurant that sold alcohol! Glad to see something is going in there. They have huge sidewalks which would be perfect for a patio.

Nice. Will have to check that out.
That area is walking distance from where I live in Grandview...nice little area, but so many of the storefronts are empty. Definitely underutilized.
Anyone know if Whit's Custard is open there yet? They had a "coming soon" sign the last time I was over that way, which was about a month ago.

Here's hoping this becomes a vibrant little area. I always wondered why old downtown wasn't full of boutiques, cafes, wine bars and upscale restaurants.

I think they have some strict views on permitting liquor licenses in the area. Or at least that's the impression I've always gotten...

I grew up a few blocks away from here. The main reason people oppossed a restaurant in the past was because of the lack of parking. I think it's a great addition for the neighborhood.

Considering the small menu, an unusual number of seafood choices are found.
Which number? Pi? e? Square root of 2? Am I getting warmer?One can be a mahi-mahi special ($18).

The Dispatch article is really poorly written but Park Creek Kitchen is the best new restaurant in Columbus since Rosendale's. The headline says "service upgrade" but then the article doesn't mention any actual service problems - I've been a half-dozen times and never had any service issues.
The house burger is the best thing on the menu in my opinion - good meat, good vegetables, good bread, and the fries (a mix of potato, sweet potato, and celery root) are insane.

Is there any restaurant reviewer more worthless than Jon Christensen?
I'm tempted to head over there just on the strength of them giving him crap service. I'm totally ready to believe he hinted as to who he was and didn't get his expected free appetizer or some shit.

Went there tonight; when I asked "Do you know who I am?" They said, what side of 5th Avenue? I said, the J. Christian rib eating side, biatch!
