OK kids, help a new girl out:
I just moved here from Akron and one of the things I miss most is knowing EXACTLY where to go to get what I need!
I need bulk baking supplies: sprinkles & flours & the like. Back home it's Mr. Bulky's Foods... where do I find such things without driving the hundred miles north?

I've always wondered about a good bulk store in town. When we go to my mom's hometown, they have a Bulk Bin. They actually have macaroni cheese powder.
Most of the grocery stores have some type of bulk aisle. Andersons out on Brice/70, Oatganics across from Eddie George's on Campus, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, North Market, Clintonville Co-op and Bexley Natural Foods may offer something as well.

Rachel (local food blogger) recently organized a bulk flour buy for a specific brand:

I've also heard that Amy at Omega Artisan Baking (North Market) will sell flour to customers, and I'm sure she buys it in bulk:

Whole Foods and Clintonville Community Market have good bulk sections. There's a cake decorating supply store on Cleveland Ave between Morse and 161 that may have sprinkles.
I do also run a co-op of Frontier Wholesale foods. I don't think decorating supplies are available, but natural bulk teas and spices are. I order bulk cheese powder and dried refried beans through Frontier. We order monthly and pickup at Sprout Soup. Not for bulk, but if you live downtown and run out of something you need in a hurry, try Cookware Sorcerer on High Street in the Short North, owner Nancy Haitz has all sorts of baking items you might not think she'd carry: powdered meringue, Sil-Pats, sprinkles and great cookie cutters, North Market Cookware is good too. Wasserstrom's The Source at North Market carries industrial strength full size, half and quarter baking sheets, not sure what I did without them for baking and roasting vegetables.

I second the cake craft suggestion that is where I go for my cake needs as well as other people who bake for a living go good place. They carry pretty much everything and also a wide selection of dyes for decorating as well as pearl powders etc.

I'm new-ish to the area; have traveled here for work for the last 5 years, but as I didn't live here I didn't need to shop for sprinkles. ;)
And to answer a couple questions (invitations?) it's a hobby, not a trade... but I don't like eating the results, so I never mind a few willing volunteers to take them off my hands!

If you are in Delaware County, I recommend Freeman's Market (http://www.freemansfarm.com/) on the East Side of Alum Creek. They sell bulk King-Arthur flours (cake, high-gluten (great for pizza crust), and etc) for really reasonable prices (around $.60/lb). Likewise, they also sell bulk Crimson Cup Coffee for good prices. :)

That's funny. My hobby is eating baked goods other people have made. Weird coincidence.

For all of my caking needs, I like to go to Cake Craft or Happy Hostess.
Happy Hostess is a little tiny house near the airport and they have all kinds of goodies for cake and candy making. And while the ladies who work there aren't necessary the most...overly friendly...they are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to answer your questions.

Can't believe I missed this... I too have been to HH a couple of times. I'd describe it as possibly one of the creepiest places in Columbus, that just also happens to sell some of the only Cake/Candy supplies in the city.
I always felt kind of like I was walking into a horror movie whenever I drove out there. That said, the business itself has always been pretty good, I just wish they'd upgrade the outside of the place so it didn't look so desolate.
