We have brewed a new Belgian Dark Strong Ale at Barley’s Brewing Co. Ale House #1. Abbey Normal is the first Belgian Abbey style beer at Barley’s and it is on tap now. This ale is much more drinkable than I ever would have guessed. The alcohol is deceptively cloaked-be careful!
Sadly, it won’t be one of the six beers at Brew and a View @ COSI tonight...

I can not wait to make Bison Carbonnade with Angelo's Ale at Kitchen Little. Thanks Angelo!

You are always welcome, Jerry! I’ve said it before, but North Market poultry & Game/Kitchen Little are the tops! I can’t wait to taste some (Flemish?) Bison Carbonnade... I’m putting some Abbey Normal in some Lamb Stew tomorrow,
Friday’s Firkin will be Abbey Normal-has anyone ever had a Cask Conditioned Belgian Style Ale before?

Not I.
I'm not typically a fan of the Belgian style ales but am looking forward to trying this one.Posted 1 year ago # -
Nice new avatar, Porky-Rogaine? I wasn’t a fan of Belgian Style ales either, but after almost 20 years of brewing, I finally acquired a taste for some (still trying to “get" sour beers, but I’m not going to beat up my palate over them...)

Just trying to get into the season bro!
Well we'll see Friday, if I don't like Belgian's on cask @ Barley's there's no hope.Posted 1 year ago # -

Stopped in last week and while Belgian's still aren't my thing this one was good. Packed a nice punch too!
Great Job Angelo!Posted 1 year ago # -
Is this available at both locations or just one? I LOVE me some cool blondes...

Thanks Porky! @ C&F-Abbey Normal is only downtown. I personally prefer the draft version to the cask (cask was yeastier) This seems like an ale that would age gracefully, so I plan to sock some away for a while.
