If I put a disc in the mail today, I get notification of the next movie being sent tomorrow.Make sure that when you send the movie back, that you line up the disc jacket with the proper openings on the shipping envelope. This is so the scanners at the post office can notify Netflix that a disc is in the mail without having to wait until they physically receive it before sending the next one, which would add time to your delivery turnaround.
Wow, Ro, no shit? The PO notifies Netflix, huh I never knew that. It seems so...uncharacteristically efficient & customer friendly for our United States Postal Service.
I forgot the whole context of this story, but Netflix is actually very fortunate to for some reason be in the good graces of the Postal Service. The envelopes they use are lopsided and don't run through the letter scanning machinery very well. They have to be hand sorted.
Heeeeey now, don't blame the envelopes. Those envelopes keep a lot of people I really like employed :)
As for the post office, they have incredible capabilities that go far beyond the typical snail mail we all think of. I have a book that weighs about 5lbs with the USPS's features, capabilities, requirements, etc. Mail is very interesting people!!!
